Here you will find a photo blog that documents my adventures as I travel through design and the world. Enjoy!
My first dream was to become a fashion designer. Throughout elementary and middle school I filled notebooks with sketches of dresses and outfits. But, I never thought it would be practical or possible to become a fashion designer. In middle school, my knack for math and science emerged and overtook my interest in art. For 10 years, I meticulously followed a path marked "Engineer," with math and science dominating my academics and extracurriculars.
College applications soon broke the horizon and I began to think more seriously about where I was headed. I paused. Engineering didn't feel right. Something was missing: creativity. But, racing backward to the other, art-filled end of the spectrum didn't feel right either. If I were an artist, I would long for the logical and systematic perfection of physics and mathematics. So, where did that leave me? College Board came to my rescue (never thought I would say that!). In a curious search through possible college majors, College Board led me to Industrial Design. Those two words caught my attention. Industrial. Design. That sounds like something I might like. With a quick google, I was hooked. I had found my new path.
But, this path was different. This path was my design.
Thus, I designed this next segment of life to take me around the world. I will explore and soak up inspiration from many cultures and communities. Then, I will carry that inspiration into my studies at the College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning at the University of Cincinnati. Visit 'About the Project' to learn more.
I know my life will consist of many paths, some designed, some out of my control, but for now this is the path I am on. Here, you will find a photo blog that chronicles my adventures.
